“The fact that the mind rules the body is, in spite of its neglect by biology and medicine, the most fundamental fact that we know about the process of life.”
– Franz Alexander, M.D.
I truly enjoy my work with patients – constantly learning more from their personal journeys than imaginable. Being a privileged listener, creating a healing partnership, minimizing fear and negativity, and increasing focus on evidence for positivity and resiliency are the approaches common to my practice of psychiatry. Peace of mind sends the body a “live” signal, while depression, fear, and conflict give it a “die” message.
I am a very direct and solutions-oriented psychiatrist and not a fit for every patient. (Some call me “the best” – a few review me as “the worst” – everything is available online.) I have learned immensely from exceptional patients who have braved the uncertain process of trusting a physician with their emotional and physical health. I strongly encourage my clients to find solutions, demand to be heard, and to be hopeful during life’s challenges.
